How to Manage Security & Privacy on Your Computer

1. Keep Your System Updated

Updates protect your computer from new threats.

  • Go to Settings

  • Click Windows Update

  • Select Check for Updates
    Install all important updates to stay secure.


2. Use Antivirus Protection

Antivirus helps block viruses, ransomware, and malware.

  • Turn on Windows Defender (built-in)

  • Or install a trusted antivirus

  • Run regular scans to detect threats

Never use unknown or cracked antivirus software.


3. Enable Firewall Protection

A firewall prevents unauthorized access.

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Windows Security

Weak passwords are easy to hack.
Tips for strong passwords:
